10 Title Wins That WWE Refuses To Recognise
5. Ric Flair (NWA World Heavyweight Title)
If John Cena ever returns to win another World Title, then expect WWE to go heavy on hype about him being a record breaker. They'll shout from the rooftops about how Cena has topped Ric Flair's famous 16-time achievements. Meanwhile, ol' 'Slick Ric' will giggle himself to sleep knowing he actually won more than that.
16-time could easily be 20 or 21-time.
Neither the NWA, WCW or WWE recognise that Ric lost and regained the title multiple times in international territories during his 1981-1983 reign. WWE's own history for the classic NWA World Title claims that Flair held the thing for 631 uninterrupted days before dropping it to Harley Race.
In truth, the 'Nature Boy' traded it with Dusty Rhodes (as 'The Midnight Rider'), Jack Veneno (in the Dominican Republic), Carlos Colón (Puerto Rico) and Victor Jovica (in Trinidad) on house shows pre-Race. That means he has way more reigns than care to WWE promote.
