10 TNA Stars Perfect For WWE NXT Talent Exchange
6. Matthew Rehwoldt
Who says crossovers can't apply to the commentary team? They're a huge part of the show, and bringing in Matthew Rehwoldt could be the most overlooked element of this that could yield some great returns.
Of course, it would be nice to see the former Aiden English return to his old stomping grounds, but more importantly, his role here would be to inform viewers of the TNA talent, catch them up on the storylines, and provide insight that Vic Joseph and Booker T can't.
It should be assumed the NXT audience may be wholly unaware of those wrestlers, just as when someone from NXT gets drafted to the main roster and the announce team gives context to their accolades, background, notable achievements, and more. A video package can accomplish much of this, but there's only so much you can cram in two minutes, and what often gets lost in the shuffle is what they do in the ring, like their signature moves.
Should Rehwoldt also want to step inside the ring himself, he could always do that, too, having wrestled as recently as December 2023 when he and Simon Gotch reformed The Vaudevillains at Battleground Championship Wrestling's Opportunity Knocks event.
