When Jeff Hardy left WWE in 2009 he did so as a 32 year old that was just coming off an outstanding main event program with CM Punk. There was no logical reason for him to leave WWE. He was the second biggest babyface to John Cena and there were people that thought he could actually compete with Cena as the top draw. That's how popular he was. He left in part because of two drug test failures and also because of the WWE grind. The drug failures were a major factor because if he failed a third he would be the only one to do that and would lead a termination. To avoid dealing with it, he left to TNA. Hardy had some good moments there although showing up as a drugged dup mess at Victory Road 2011 is a lowlight that we all wish we could forget. Is there still value in Jeff Hardy's name? Yeah. It seems like it. Five years isn't that long in wrestling. If he came back he could be the kind of spark that WWE needs. He's also not as old as you might think because he was 20 years old when WWE signed him and he worked as a jobber even when he was 16 years old. He's 36 now. Whether he showed up in WWE on his own or reunited with his older brother Matt, it's safe to say that WWE fans would welcome him back to the place where he really made it. The big question is whether management would welcome him back. A guy with a history of drug issues is always going to be questionable at best. Some guys are able to clean themselves up, though. Maybe Hardy could. We don't really know.
