"The Mega Powers explode!" is a phrase that'll always be synonymous with wrestling's golden age. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage's split and subsequent feud are seminal. It provided one of the most iconic WrestleMania main events of all-time, and a memorable angle in which 'Macho Man' finally turned on his partner inside the medical room.

The explosion took place on the 3 February 1989 episode of The Main Event, and while it stands as one of the era's most important segments, it was almost ruined by Brutus Beefcake. Hogan's buddy was supposed to run in and stop Savage's beatdown towards the end of the scene, but he totally missed his cue at the start, and was forced to backtrack out of the shot. He returned to wrest the WWF Title belt from Savage's grasp a few moments later, but eagle-eyed viewers had already caught his mistake.

Hogan was at the heart of a noticeable botch too. The cameras found him later in the evening, with 'The Hulkster' halfway between sobbing and speaking. Somebody forgot to feed him his cue, which Hogan then clearly asked for while the cameras are still rolling, but the producers fortunately had the sense to cut away moments after the error.
