Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker have shared the ring on multiple occasions over the years, but only five of them were televised singles matches, and the first time they stood toe-to-toe against each other was at the Ground Zero: In Your House PPV in September 1997.

Shawn Michaels was at the top of his game at the time and was already a 2-time WWE Champion. He has one of the most iconic entrance theme music of all time, and his usual routine would see him flex his biceps in the middle of the ring as the pyro goes off in the background.

However, as Shawn Michaels made his way to the ring and did his usual entrance, the in-ring pyro seemed to go off a bit slower than usual. HBK didn't take too kindly to that and made fun of the pyrotechnic display and expressed his frustration in the middle of the ring.

The match went on as planned but ended in a no-contest as the wrestlers took out three referees, leaving the fourth referee to call for the bell to end the contest. They had another match the next month at Badd Blood: In Your House, where fans witnessed the debut of The Big Red Monster Kane.
