God, Forbidden Door was just the best.

A genuinely surreal and dreamlike event, even though the pandemic is far from over, it truly felt like the best possible response and indeed thank you to the fans who had endured the bleak era in which they were not permitted to attend shows. The sequencing was perfect, the action and the range was outstanding, and the vibe was euphoric.

Chris Jericho and Wheeler YUTA set that vibe with a sequence so stunning that it drew a standing ovation from the packed United Center. This was an insane crowd moment because it was the opening sequence in the opening match and these people, who barely had time to lose their inhibitions, reacted as if they'd seen the face of God.

Jericho pie-faced YUTA. YUTA had learned several lessons across 2022 and took the fight to Jericho with a slap and a positively awesome barrage of German suplexes. Watch Jericho after the fifth. He senses that the fans are really clicking with the sequence. He calls a spot, tells YUTA to do it again, and when he does, within seconds, the entire crowd are on their feet.

In reaction to the first sequence in the first match on the card.

Jericho is a genius worker in the purest definition.
