10 Totally Random Makeshift Tag Teams That Surprisingly Ruled

Who says you need matching tights to be an excellent tag team?

Tag team wrestling has had intermittent periods of popularity in WWE. Despite claims that WWE has never cared about tag team wrestling (Vince believes only singles combat can draw real money) there have been times when WWE has focused on the doubles division. The 1980s was a great period for tag team wrestling. You had The British Bulldogs, The Rockers, The Legion of Doom, The Hart Foundation and so on. WCW had a thriving tag team division in the 1990s, with teams like The Outsiders, Harlem Heat and The Steiners tearing it up on a weekly basis. Then, in the early 2000s Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boys and The Dudleys reinvented tag team wrestling with their series of breathtaking stunt matches. But, if you notice, these tag teams were all 'proper' tag teams. They had similar looks, wore matching attire and had well-rehearsed tag team moves and sequences. What about those tag teams that were just thrown together and told to 'sink or swim'? There have been plenty of great makeshift tag teams in WWE history, but very rarely do they get their due. They deserve some credit because a lot of times they take chicken s*** and turn it into chicken salad. This list looks at ten random makeshift tag teams that surprisingly ruled.
