Mil Mascaras is perhaps the most celebrated luchador of all time. In addition to being the one of the most popular wrestlers to ever lace up the boots in Mexico he also managed to star in over 20 Mexican feature films. He has wrestled all over the world and in addition to his home country, Mascaras has excelled in All Japan and the NWA. He has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (2012), NWA Hall of Fame (2009) and his legacy continues to live on today through his nephew Alberto Del Rio . When Mascaras entered as entrant #11 in the 1997 Royal Rumble he had not appeared regularly in a WWE ring since he feuded with WWE World Champion Billy 'Superstar' Graham in the late 1970's. Mascaras entered the Rumble at #11 and managed to throw out two combatants, fellow luchadores Cibernetico and Pierroth. He was 53 years old at the time and lasted 7 minutes and 28 seconds in the Rumble before eliminating himself with a flying cross body to the outside on Pierroth. Since his appearance in the 1997 Royal Rumble Mis Mascaras has continued his in ring career wrestling into his 70's. He has a perfect Lucha de Apuestas (mask vs mask or mask vs hair) record at 13-0 with his last victory coming in 2007 at the age of 64 years old. In addition to this Mascaras if famous for being a legitimate tough guy trained in the Martial Arts and never removing his mask concealing his personal life.
