10 Totally Stupid Things WWE Has ALREADY DONE Since WrestleMania 33

6. The (Literal) Dumpster Match

On the Payback go-home episode of RAW (more on that later), Braun Strowman faced Kalisto in a Dumpster match, having tossed him in the bin the week prior. The booking wrote itself; Strowman destroys Kalisto in his inimitably raucous way, Kalisto - about whom the company could care less - gets a morsel of offence to convey that he isn't completely worthless, before being tossed out with trash. End scene.

But this being WWE, some dimwitted creative staffer wrestled the pen from the hands of common sense and had Strowman walk backwards into the dumpster. It did nobody any good. Kalisto was portrayed as a fluke winner, Strowman something of a moron. It was all retconned within seconds, anyway. Strowman, enraged, threw Kalisto off the stage. He could have done that even if he'd won. He's Braun Strowman. He exists to cause terror. That's his gimmick.

Strowman wasn't affected by the loss. He was received as a threat to Roman Reigns on Sunday, and it rang true - but if wins and losses on throwaway episodes of RAW don't matter, why even bother watching them in the first place?

Dwindling ratings confirm that the question has never been more rhetorical.
