Almost every wrestling fan is all too familiar with the Ultimate Warrior and they man they call Sting, and why wouldn't they be. One is former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer, and the other was the Franchise of WCW and until recently held the title for 'Best wrestler to never appear in the WWE'. But what fans may not recall is that before Sting (Steve Borden) and the Warrior (Jim Hellwig) two of the most storied singles wrestlers ever, they wrestled as a cohesive unit for years as an intimidating power team. The team actually began after Borden and Hellwig, whom were proficient body-builders at the time, were told that they had 'the look' for wrestling and could make good money in the industry. So with that they debuted with two other body-builders as 'Powerteam USA' and quickly moved on to Memphis wrestling for the CWA as 'The Freedom Fighters' Justice and Flash. After a short run in Memphis, Sting and the Warrior took their talents to Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling territory where they became the Blade Runners (Rock and Sting), two monsters managed by 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert. The team lasted just under two years in total, never won any major championships and was oft criticized for their stiff work. That being said the image of a young Sting and Warrior teaming together conveyed a sense power, strength and toughness that was almost unmatched making them an easy inclusion on this list.
