10 Toughest WWE Wrestlers (Who Were Under 6 Foot)

1. Kurt Angle (6'0")

Angle is one of the toughest guys in WWE regardless of size. When you consider that Angle won a gold medal in Olympic wrestling in 1996 with a "broken freakin' neck" then it would be wrong to question the man's toughness. Angle has said that if UFC was bigger when he was looking for a new career in 1998/99 he probably would have tried that instead of WWE. Most likely he would have been very good at it although we'll never know for sure. We should be happy that he went to WWE because he's one of the greatest wrestlers ever. There are all kinds of stories about Angle's toughness from working hurt so many times to getting into wrestling exhibitions with Brock Lesnar just to see who was better. Keep in mind that Angle, who is 6'0", weighs about 40-50 pounds less than Lesnar, so for him to even try to take down Lesnar is a testament to his toughness. He had an incident with Tough Enough rookie Daniel Puder where he was trapped in an arm bar and then the ref Jimmy Korderas counted a pin for Angle. That was a moment where Angle didn't look tough because he was caught off guard, but it's something that happened probably due to the weakened state of his arm at that point in his life. It says a lot about Angle's status that fans and management never really considered him to be too short to be a main event guy. Some others that are "only" six feet tall are labelled as too small, yet Angle was in a different class thanks to the credibility he had as an Olympic gold medal winner. While WWE fans are probably sad that he's staying in TNA for at least another year, they shouldn't forget how tough Angle was and the fact that he's still wrestling in his mid-40s is a testament to that toughness as well.
