2. Randy Couture

To fight fans and fighters themselves, Randy Couture is one of the greatest to ever compete in MMA. For Dana White, though, he’s not all that sold on a fighter who was once one of the centre-piece attractions of the UFC.

The major turning point for White and Couture was when The Natural did his best to get out of his UFC contract while the current UFC Heavyweight Champion. Couture wanted out of his deal so that he could fight Fedor Emelianenko, but White reasonably didn’t want to lose one of his main attractions and believed that Couture really wanted to explore more Hollywood movie roles.

Dana White would win that battle, and Couture would return to UFC action nearly 18 months later at UFC 74 – and even then Couture would take a further year out before his next fight at UFC 91.

Despite Randy Couture rightfully earning a place in the UFC Hall of Fame, that hasn’t stopped Dana from claiming that Couture’s status as a Captain America-esque hero and nice guy is all a load of BS.
