10 UFC Fighters Who Had Perfect Performances Inside The Octagon

5. TJ Dillashaw Vs. Renan Barao - UFC 173

Whatever you might think of TJ Dillashaw following his EPO drug charge in March 2019, the bantamweight still has a number of outstanding wins on his resume prior to those charges. One of his best ever bouts was the surprising annihilation of then-UFC bantamweight champion, Renan Barao.

At the time, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that the Brazilian was the best 135lber on the planet. He was on a 31-fight win streak that lasted nearly ten years and had battered everyone who fought him inside the UFC. Not only was he a devastatingly violent fighter, Dillashaw was coming into the fight on short notice. Although he was clearly talented, many believed it was too much, too soon for the Team Alpha Male prospect.

If many had Dillashaw as the underdog, he clearly didn't pay any attention, as he dominated Barao from the moment the fight began. The Brazilian's previous opponents were always stuck in the line of fire whenever he threw a strike, but Dillashaw was able to evade those attacks and land before he could reset himself on the feet.

The Brazilian looked completely perplexed as it was quite clear that he'd never fought anyone with Dillashaw's movement. Eventually the constant motion became too much for Barao, who was clearly exhausted from the beating he'd taken over five rounds. Sensing his opponent was on his last legs, Dillashaw landed a crushing head kick and follow-up punches that finished the legacy of Renan Barao.
