10 UFC Fights That Could Soon Break Records
4. Valentina Shevchenko Vs. Maycee Barber
When Jon Jones won the UFC Light Heavyweight title in 2011 at the tender age of 23, he became the youngest fighter in UFC history to win a title since the company implemented weight-classes.
Since then nobody has come close to breaking that tremendous record, which was set nearly a decade ago... nobody until one Maycee Barber stepped foot onto the scene in 2018.
Breaking out on Dana White's Contender Series 13, Barber began knocking out all of her rivals on her journey to becoming UFC Women's Featherweight Champion.
Sure, she hit a bit of speed bump in the form of Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 246. However, at just 21 years old, Barber still stands a good chance of becoming a champion before Jones did.
That being said, there's still one rather unescapable variable in this equation and her name is Valentina Shevchenko.
At this point, no Featherweight has come close to stealing that belt away from the 'Bullet' and if Barber wants to make history, she'll have to evolve quickly to get anywhere near Shevchenko's current level.
It's a fight which would need to happen in the next two years and with Barber currently benched with a busted knee, that window is only getting smaller by the day.
