10 UFC Fights That Did Not Go To Plan

8. Holly Holm Takes Down The Baddest Woman On The Planet (UFC 193)

Ronda Rousey was the undisputed top star in the UFC in 2015.

She had successfully defended her Bantamweight crown an impressive six times and it didn't look like anyone was capable of usurping 'The Baddest Woman on the Planet'.

Even when she was matched-up with a talented kickboxer known as Holly Holm, Rousey was still expected to extend her undefeated streak to 13-0.

However, the company's plans for their top talent were torn to pieces at UFC 193 when Holm quickly set about dismantling the once-formidable Bantamweight sensation. Rousey was shook and her reign was dramatically ended after Holm caught her flush with a devastating head kick early in the second round.

The company tried to salvage the star by giving her a chance to recapture her gold against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 a year later, but Rousey was clearly still reeling from that Holm loss and was obliterated by the current Bantamweight Champion in just 48 seconds.

UFC would have happily kept Rousey at the forefront of the company for years to come had she successfully held onto her crown. But, thanks to Holm and Nunes those plans were scrapped and Dana White turned his attention elsewhere going forward.
