10 UFC Fights That Need To Happen In 2020

7. Khabib Vs. Conor II

Being blunt, Conor McGregor shouldn't be anywhere even close to being in contention to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The thing is, Conor is a money-printing machine for the UFC.

It may have taken until the fourth round for Khabib to get the W over McGregor at their October 2018 UFC 229 showdown - a fight which drew the highest amount of PPV buys in the history of Mixed Martial Arts - but The Eagle had made the fight look easy as he dominated each and every round before getting the submission win.

Since then, McGregor has stayed away from the Octagon, with many questioning whether it would be possible for Notorious to ever reach the heights that he was once at. Now though, the Irishman is lining up a UFC return early next year against a to-be-announced opponent.

First and foremost for Conor, there's the small matter that Tony Ferguson, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and possibly even 'Cowboy' Donald Cerrone are all more worthy of challenging for Khabib's crown. Should McGregor emerge victorious in his 2020 return fight, however, it would be no surprise to see the UFC do their best to hotshot the former two-weight champion into a rematch - potentially in Russia - against Nurmagomedov.
