You knew a list of this nature wouldn't be complete without the fighter who made UFC press conferences must-see.

Though Conor McGregor has been able to back up the majority of his own words - even earning the nickname Mystic Mac - when spewing out the amount of self-indulgent volatility that the Irishman is known to, an impending backlash is always on the horizon.

That was never more apparent that in his verbal wars with both Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Notorious one clearly underestimated the threat that Diaz posed to him heading into their first clash at UFC 196 - spending the majority of the build-up running down other fighters - and paid the price by getting choked out in the second round.

In terms of his Nurmagomedov clash at UFC 229, McGregor seemed to have a bee in his bonnet early on and waxed lyrical about his overwhelming ability, stating that he was going to 'truly, truly love putting a bad, bad beating on this glass-jawed rat.'

As we all know by now, McGregor got his neck cranked to the point of submission in the fourth round and was made to look (as he himself would put it) a fool, in hindsight.

He hasn't been seen in the Octagon since that fight in 2018, but that hasn't stopped McGregor running his mouth on social media in the interim.

It'll take more than a couple of defeats to extinguish this Notorious braggart.
