10 Ultimate Warrior Moments To Relive On WWE Network

4. Royal Rumble Match 1990

For old school fans of late '80s - early '90s WWF, there is probably no other match that would be as fun to revisit as the 1990 Royal Rumble match. Andre the Giant, Dusty Rhodes, the Hart Foundation, Demolition, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Roddy Piper, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Mr Perfect and more classic superstars make up the entrant list of this amazingly star-studded match. Even with all those great talents involved, in the end, it was two superstars who would stand out by the end of the night as the biggest stars of the match - Intercontinental Champion the Ultimate Warrior and WWF Champion Hulk Hogan. Ultimate Warrior entered at #21 (2:17:30 of the PPV if you want to jump right to his entrance), and immediately made his presence known, eliminating Dino Bravo. Hogan would later enter at #25, and the two men would go on a run eliminating everyone else in the match until the ring was cleared to just those two men. There is a saying that sometimes you don't know what you want until you see it right in front of you, and that definitely applies here. Most young wrestling fans would have never even considered that two heroes like hogan and warrior would ever do battle in the era of almost exclusively 'good guy vs bad guy' matches. But after this Royal Rumble, wrestling fans all over the world began wondering, what would happen if the two biggest good guys in the company, both champions, were to face off, and they would eventually get their answer a few months later at Wrestlemania VI. The Ultimate Warrior may not have won the Royal Rumble in 1990, but he left the event a made man.
