10 Ultra-Rare WWE Championship Matches You've Definitely Never Seen

Differing recollections have this Ladder Match Intercontinental Title switch down as either an embarrassing error or attempt to pop house show ticket sales. Regardless of whatever caused this unexpected title change, WWE switched it right back just two days later as a post-WrestleMania XI tour of Canada offered more drama between 'Double J' and 'The Bad Guy' than their unsatisfying 'Show Of Shows' Championship clash.

The idea of the trade taking place in Montreal to hope that word-of-mouth and on-screen acknowledgement might boost figures isn't a wild one. Both shows took place in different areas of Quebec over a 48-hour period, and WWE may have sought to use the shock in Montreal on the 19th to put a few more a*sses in the Trois Riveres seats two nights later.

What's funnier is to consider the other possible reason for the change (and possible justification the change was never ever shown) - it was a comical botch. Various shoot interviews had it that Razor was atop the ladder waiting for Jarrett to push it or him to the floor, but a timing error had the titleholder nowhere in sight. Calling an audible for suspension of disbelief and the good of his gimmick, Ramon took the initiative and the belt itself.
