10 Unbelievable Vince McMahon Stories

9. Public Displays Of Power

A common trait amongst those who feel the need to micro-manage is being unable to accept anything other than high standards, and it's well-known that Vince McMahon won't tolerate anything but what he deems the best from his in-ring talent. This is something both Rhyno and Tajiri found out the hard way during a 2003 house show match. According to Rhyno, McMahon told him that he didn't want to see any mistakes in the match, right before the wrestler went through the curtain to work. An agent had told Rhyno that if the crowd ever chant boring during a WWE match, Vince wants his performers to slap on a transition hold, like a chinlock, and ride it out. Apparently, this was poor information. The crowd did chant boring during a routine spot of the match, so Rhyno slapped on a hold, prompting the chants to get louder. Having seen enough, Vince himself strolled down the ramp and told both guys to "go home" (finish the match). Afterwards, the boss even told Rhyno that the agent who told him to slap on a hold obviously hadn't been a top guy, because top guys save their money and don't have to become agents.
