10 Unbelievably Awful WWE SummerSlam Matches

3. Virgil vs. Nailz (SummerSlam 1992)

Nowadays, Virgil is relatively infamous for his desperate attempts to capitalise on a long-forgotten WWF/WWE career. There are numerous websites dedicated to taking pictures of the man looking lonely at various fan-signing events around North America, but at least he can look back and say he was part of the WWF when the company was huge in the late-80's. Rather less fortunately, Virgil can also reflect on a singles career that went nowhere. Upon splitting from Ted DiBiase in 1991, Virgil became a mid-card babyface. By comparison, Nailz was a heel character the company had introduced earlier in 1992, and both men would tangle on the main card at SummerSlam '92 in Wembley Stadium. Going less than 4 minutes, the match was a rudimentary squash match designed to make Nailz look like a monster. The problem was that a lot of his initial aura had largely diminished already, even though he'd only been on the roster a few months. Nailz was a terrible worker, and even in squashing Virgil, he looked awkward and unrealistic. This was a match to forget.
