10 Underrated Movies Starring Wrestlers

Starring Shia LeBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and Zack Gottsagen, 2019's The Peanut Butter Flacon is one of the few films on this list actually about wrestling.

It stars Gottsagen as Zak, a man with Down's Syndrome who escapes his assisted living facility to pursue a career in pro wrestling. Along the way he meets LeBeouf's character Tyler, who's on the run after ticking off the wrong people. The friendship the two form whilst out in the wilderness is the central force behind this film.

You can't have a wrestling movie without a few wrestling cameos. Mick Foley is in this film as Jacob, a local promoter who hooks Zak up with his first match. That contest is against Sam, played by none other than Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

The film does an excellent job in shining a spotlight on Zak's condition, as Gottsagen has Down's Syndrome in real life. It's also very touching and has a strong moral message about never giving up on one's dreams.

Also, you get to see Shia LeBeouf get hit with a tire iron, which is extremely cathartic for anyone who had to sit through all those Transformers movies.
