10 Underrated PPVs From WWE's Ruthless Aggression Era

Match of the Night: Brock Lesnar vs Eddie Guerrero
SmackDown’s last exclusive PPV before WrestleMania XX saw the defining moment in Eddie Guerrero’s WWE career. But the PPV itself was one that built itself around the premise of story over action. It asked fans to suspend belief just a little more than usual and engross themselves with the idea that, whilst anything is possible, what they wanted would be unlikely to happen. The added tease of having Goldberg appear at ringside gave the PPV a big feeling of importance, even before the events of the night transpired.
Despite a rather uncomfortable match involving Nidia and Jamie Noble, where Noble was blindfolded to face his former lover, the card remained solid and anticipation built nicely to the main event. In a sense, this was a PPV that lived and died by the outcome of the main event and it proved to be a historic night. Goldberg broke the brand wall by appearing, and later spearing, which lea to Eddie’s emotional WWE Championship win. This PPV is underrated in the sense that the Match of the Night could feasibly have been the #1 Contenders Match or the Cruiserweight Championship match; such was the fine margin of emotion and error that tiny mistakes stop them from being considered higher at the time.
