10 Underrated Wrestling Promos

4. Edge - “Your Girlfriend Fell In Love With A Main-Eventer”

There was quite an ugly scene surrounding Edge, Lita, and Matt Hardy in 2005.

Hardy and Lita's six-years-long relationship ended chaotically as the latter was getting "a bit too friendly" with Edge (who was married at the time) on the road while the former was home nursing a knee injury. Hardy found out, got reasonably upset, and was released from WWE for "unprofessional conduct," while Edge's stock was rising as a main-event-level talent. As the fans' demand for justice against the home-wrecking duo became inexorable, WWE re-signed Hardy, thus launching one of 2005's hottest feuds.

Shortly after Hardy was re-signed, Edge delivered this promo in response to Hardy's somewhat disastrous promo from the week prior. In it, he castigates Hardy for dragging their personal business out for the public to see, but subsequently lambastes Hardy for never proposing to Lita when he had the chance. But the best part of the promo is easily the final moments, where he talks about how Hardy is "riding his coattails" into the main event picture.

It's genuinely surprising that this promo never lands in a "Best Promos Ever" list, because it's one of the realest and most articulate promos in wrestling history.
