Think of car crash ladder matches involving the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian and you probably (and quite understandably) gravitate towards the first ever TLC at SummerSlam 2000, or the insanely good sequel months later at WrestleMania X-Seven.

But this one, a straight two-on-two Ladder Match at No Mercy in October 1999, was to some every bit as good, functioning as a sort of experimental match for some of the balls-to-the-wall mental spots we went onto see in those classic TLCs to come.
