It still feels a little surreal to say we're living in a time where Edge is actually wrestling in a WWE ring again.

Various reports had been swirling around the internet for weeks, all claiming that the WWE Hall of Famer could be about to come out of retirement during this year's Men's Royal Rumble match. Despite these attempts to spoil the surprise, as soon 'The Rated 'R' Superstar's music blasted through Minute Maid Park's speakers the sound made by the euphoric crowd cemented his miracle return as one of the greatest of all time.

However, Edge had been on the shelf for close to a decade, so even the most hopeful of supporters weren't expecting him to immediately hit the ground running. They also weren't expecting him to jump straight into one of the most personal programmes the company had offered up for some time, but that's exactly what he did.

He may have only wrestled two one-on-one encounters since reversing his retirement - one of those being THE GREATEST WRESTLING MATCH EVER, which actually turned out to be a rather enjoyable affair - but Edge's stellar promo work alone since his unlikely return safely ranks him as one of WWE's top 2020 players.
