Rarely does WWE book face vs. face matches, much less the main event of WrestleMania. Here, they did it with one of the few men fans thought capable of dethroning Hogan: Intercontinental Champion the Ultimate Warrior.

The Warrior's wild, frenetic energy, from running down the entrance aisle all the way to ring and the viciously shaking the top ropes, made him electric. His high-intensity, charisma, and physically imposing stature made him at the time, really the only viable candidate to replace Hogan as the top babyface in the company.

Hulk Hogan doesn't like to put over many people. Even in said WrestleMania main event with The Ultimate Warrior, Hogan makes a kickout attempt immediately after the referee counts three, which somewhat lessened the impact of the Warrior's win.

But nonetheless, there was a new "King of the Mountain", as Jeff Jarrett would say.

Unfortunately, between inane, rambling, incoherent interviews and bad booking decisions along with Warrior's known unpredictability, his title reign would not last nearly as long as the WWE would've hoped, and he certainly wasn't a viable replacement for Hogan.

What’s up fellow Pro-Wrestling FANADDICTS, (and yes, I’m a aware that is not the correct way to spell “fanatics,” but I thought since this was my introduction I’d ease everyone into my sarcastic sense of humor before just jumping off the proverbial high-dive.) ANYWHO, I have been OBSESSED, and not just because I legitimately was diagnosed at 8 years old with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, with Pro-Wrestling. It is BAR-NONE, my biggest passion in life. If I didn’t have to pay bills, I’d do it for free! (Work in the industry in any capacity).
