After an 83-straight week ratings domination of the WWF, Eric Bischoff would unknowingly make the biggest mistake of his professional career when an idea he considered ingenious backfired, leading to WCW never again being able to compete with the competition in ratings, cementing its demise.

At the time, WCW Monday Nitro was airing live on TNT, while WWF's Monday Night Raw was often taped in advance. Thinking he was using this broadcasting gap to his advantage, Bischoff told Schiavone to reveal to the home viewers on tv "Don't bother changing the channel because Mick Foley, better known as Mankind, is going to win their world title tonight."

By being the pioneer of "spoiler alerts", Bischoff inadvertently, at that precise moment, sparking the downfall of WCW as the rating suddenly took an epic shift in the opposite direction. Instead of ruining the event for viewers at home, it made every single wrestling fan want to see how the lovable, insanely charismatic Mankind capture his first WWF Championship, with the aid of D-Generation X, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

What’s up fellow Pro-Wrestling FANADDICTS, (and yes, I’m a aware that is not the correct way to spell “fanatics,” but I thought since this was my introduction I’d ease everyone into my sarcastic sense of humor before just jumping off the proverbial high-dive.) ANYWHO, I have been OBSESSED, and not just because I legitimately was diagnosed at 8 years old with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, with Pro-Wrestling. It is BAR-NONE, my biggest passion in life. If I didn’t have to pay bills, I’d do it for free! (Work in the industry in any capacity).
