4. WrestleMania XXVII Had No Title Changes

The main selling point of WrestleMania XXVII was the first appearance of The Rock at the Granddaddy Of Them All in 7 years. The rest of the card certainly felt that way, as this was one of the weakest WrestleManias in history.

Among the Snookis, Coores and Michael Coles on the card there were three championships on the line (one on the pre-show), and all of them were retained to make this the only WrestleMania in history to not have a single title change hands.

The pre-show match saw Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan for the United States Championship end in a no contest after the lumberjacks interfered, after which the match was turned into a non-title battle royal won by the Great Khali. Opening the show was Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio challenging Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, with the Rated-R Superstar retaining, then the main event WWE Championship match between champion The Miz and challenger John Cena ending in a double count-out, The Rock restarting and screwing Cena out of the title, allowing Miz to retain and setup the "Once" in a Lifetime bout between Rock and Cena, effectively wasting an entire event.

WrestleMania is generally like a series finale for WWE, a great place to crown a new star. With the talent pool relatively dry in 2011, there were no stars burning bright enough to warrant a grand coronation. At least one championship has changed hands before and since this event so WrestleMania XXVII will retain this unique distinction, though not necessarily for the right reasons.
