1. Too Cool

After an inauspicious beginning as jobber team Too Much, Scott 'Scotty 2 Hotty' Taylor and Brian 'Grandmaster Sexay' Christopher found their place in 1999. Repackaged as Too Cool, the gimmick at first glance was a combination of Vanilla Ice and your uncle dancing at a wedding.

Endearing themselves to the public with bucket hats and cheesy dance moves, the team began to get over organically. An alliance with Rikishi in late 1999 cemented support for the group. The iconic team dance during the Royal Rumble match of 2000 is an enduring moment in Rumble folklore. Go back and watch the reaction, when the spotlight hits the ring that pop blows the roof.

The remainder of 2000 saw Too Cool enjoy a strong run, squaring off with huge names like D-Generation X and the Radicalz, culminating in a Tag Team Championship victory against Edge & Christian. Crowds were wild for Scotty’s signature ‘worm’ maneuver in particular.

Unfortunately things ended abruptly with Rikishi’s solo push, Scotty’s neck injuries and Christopher’s demons coinciding with the disbanding of the team in 2001. A few resurrections followed in later years, with Scotty and Rikishi even winning tag gold together in 2004, but peak Too Cool had passed.

The Too Cool tandem is enough if the WWE don’t want to give Rikishi two HOF spots. Either way, it would be a fitting tribute for some beloved goofballs that always raised a smile.
