4. Lita & Edge

Unlikely in the fact that Edge, and Lita for that matter (it takes two to tango after all ) had to go behind one of their fellow stars' backs to get this close to one another. Lita had been dating Matt Hardy for around five years when it was revealed that she had been romantically involved with fellow WWE Superstar Edge for several months while still dating the Hardy Boy.

Chaos ensued, as did one of the best and most believable story lines of the noughties. (Believable because it was REAL.) Shortly after those rumours started to circulate, Hardy made the pair's affair public knowledge before he was unceremoniously released by WWE. He managed to get himself rehired which saw the birth of that fantastic rivalry.

It's testament to the pair's professionalism, especially Matt, that they kept things relatively clean and resorted from fighting for a shoot. That must have been tempting for Hardy when the pair met inside a steel cage...

Lita and Edge broke up later with the former WWE Women' Champion going on to date another wrestler by the name of CM Punk., while Edge had a baby with Beth Phoenix. Lovely.
