10 Unusual Ways To Get Hired By WWE

7. Catch The Eye Of Another Wrestler (Kevin Nash)

Kevin Nash was brilliant.

Forget everything you've ever read about 'Big Sexy' (unless your writer was crafting another propaganda piece on him) - he was smart enough and good enough to get in, get rich and get out, using wrestling the way more men and women should and surviving as others literally and figuratively perished around him despite living half as fast as he did. He was often underrated too - so good in fact that he took a sh*tty gimmick and boy-popped his way into a life-changing job.

Bouncing from one failed persona to another during his early WCW days, he'd struggled as Steel and Oz before Vegas high-roller Vinnie Vegas bounded onto television with enthusiasm infectious enough to catch the attention of a channel-hopping Shawn Michaels in mid-1993. Via The Steiner Brothers, 'HBK' got hold of Nash and asked him to travel North for something new, with WCW bosses only happy to shed what they presumed to be dead weight.

He was Diesel within weeks, and kicked off a year-long stint as WWE Champion just 17 months into his run with the organisation.
