10 Most Unusual Wrestling Injuries Ever

10. Droz Gets Paralyzed

This isn't to make light of Darren Drozdov's injury, or to downplay the severity of it. He fractured two discs in his neck during a match with D'Lo Brown, leaving him a quadriplegic with no movement below his neck (although he has since gained some movement in his arms and chest). That's about as serious as it gets. The unusual part is that it happened during Brown's finishing move, which he has performed a million times, and according to Brown, neither man really knows what went "wrong". It was a freak accident, completely and truly. Some have attributed the injury to Droz wearing a baggy shirt, not allowing D'Lo to get a proper grip on him as he lifted him up in the air, but D'Lo doesn't use that as any type of an excuse. It was just an unlucky thing that happens in sports sometimes, and on that day in 1999, Droz just happened to be the one "chosen". The fact that it happened only 16 months after he debuted for the WWF makes it all the more tragic.
