When two men or women are engaged in a beef, things very often get so heated that an ordinary one-on-one wrestling match isn't enough to help the beef get settled. Wrestling handily comes with a variety of gimmick matches to make things a little more intense, such as steel cages matches, steel chair matches, and steel things on steel poles matches.

Everything is steel.

There are also a number of matches where most of the rules go out of the window. These have various names, such as an Extreme Rules match, a No Holds Barred match, Hardcore match and others. One such example is the Street Fight, which usually becomes unique to the city the bout takes place in.

One major difference with the Street Fight? The competitors usually deem it the right time to fight in casual clothing, more often than not jeans and a vest or shirt. This trend has died somewhat in the last few years, but it is still no surprise to see someone bringing out the jeans for a street fight.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
