10 Upcoming Events That Can Benefit From ALL IN's Success

5. NWA 70th Anniversary

ALL IN

In conjunction with Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Entertainment, the National Wrestling Alliance will hold its first major event since the early years of Double J's TNA. While the NWA has seven decades worth of name recognition and a highly regarded championship lineage, the promotion has spent the past twenty or so years in relative obscurity.

Now, however, under the new ownership of Smashing Pumpkin's frontman and former IMPACT executive Billy Corgan, the NWA has begun to slowly rebuild itself, culminating in the coronation of Cody Rhodes as its champ at ALL IN. And on 21 October, the oldest wrestling company in the world will celebrate its landmark seventieth anniversary with a show in Nashville, TN.

The event will be streamed via Fite TV much like ALL IN and will be the first major NWA-branded pay-per-view since 1990’s Starrcade. The newly revived National Wrestling Alliance is looking to mark their place in the ever-growing independent landscape, and while the October event is unlikely to reach the heights of ALL IN, the company has come a long way from the dregs of their past decade.
