10 Upcoming Wrestling Matches That Will Blow Everyone Away

7. Hiromu Takahashi Vs. KUSHIDA

Hiromu Takahashi and KUSHIDA will write the latest chapter in their ongoing rivalry when they meet at NJPW Dominion on June 11th. Their first battle took place at Wrestle Kingdom 11 (January 4th), when KUSHIDA, the company’s Junior Heavyweight ace, was dethroned by the recently returned challenger. Takahashi has since blitzed throughout everyone in the division, establishing himself as one of the most exciting wrestlers in the planet, and destroying KUSHIDA in their rematch on April 9th in under two minutes.

KUSHIDA’s road to redemption has been swift. He earned this latest title shot by winning this year’s Best Of The Super Juniors, defeating Will Ospreay in a must-see tournament final. Takahashi, meanwhile, stumbled to a modest 4-4 record in the tourney, showing his first real signs of weakness since returning last year.

If this match promises anything, it’s recklessness. Hiromu’s suicidal wrestling style defies the term “high risk,” and the crazed champion has no qualms about putting his own body on the line to destroy his opponent. KUSHIDA, meanwhile, wrestles a more grounded, grappling-centric style, but has shown he’s willing to dish-out the high spots when needed.

Regardless of who wins, this is fast becoming a classic rivalry, and an unmissable clash for fans of the lighter weight classes.
