10 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (April 14)

3. Cargill Vs. Velvet Over-Delivers

Jade Cargill
AEW

It's easy to wax lyrical on Jade Cargill, whose performances continue to defy her experience level. She showed how special a prospect she is again last night, felling Red Velvet in a spirited feud-ender worked at a brisk pace, with Cargill taking the win via Jaded (her version of the Glam Slam) when her rival missed a Moonsault.

Let's talk about Velvet for a second, though, as she doesn't get nearly the shine she deserves.

The recent AEW signee has been on a major upswing for months now. She was a big part of why the Shaquille O'Neal match came off so well and appears to be growing as a wrestler every week, looking better and better every time out. Here, she was fiery, tough, and determined, throwing everything into her work, particularly on the impressive early-match tope suicida. Her ceiling now appears to be colossal and yes, she lost, but performances like this will only send her skywards.

A strong step in both wrestlers' development, here.
