10 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 30)

9. Jon Moxley’s “Community” Speech

Jon Moxley Brodie Lee

Jon Moxley knew Brodie long before they worked in WWE together. They'd traversed many roads on the independent circuit, and Mox knew Lee as a brother-in-arms who always put things into perspective. That came across loud and clear during his tribute promo.

Also, Moxley had a touching message to share.

He spoke of "community", and how Lee admitted he would trade pro wrestling for his family in a heartbeat. That's something Moxley would never forget - he knew a man who loved his wife and kids dearly, and one who everybody could count on "when the chips [were] down".

Mox isn't typically one for emotion beyond anger, but he spoke well here and gave more context to the impact Brodie Lee had on his own life and career. This was raw, it was real and it was rather special to see Moxley ditch the rage for something softer.
