3. Miro Switches Gears, Crushes Trent

Miro's victory over Trent was a huge step in the right direction for a man who's character has been way, way too light since arriving in AEW.

This was the first time Miro has looked anything close to a Bulgarian Brute. He manhandled Trent in an extended squash, coming out intense from the very first bell, and largely dominating the Best Friend from start to finish. Trent had a few flurries and came into his own towards the end, scoring a couple of near-falls, but he lost in a manner similar to the famous Great Sasuke/Jushin Liger slip of 16 April 1994, slipping on an attempted springboard before Miro slapped him in the Game Over.

Whether or not this was a botch doesn't matter, as it had no negative impact on the bout whatsoever. If was a botch, rather than gormlessly looking around, wondering what to do, Miro assertively finished the clash without hesitation, scoring a necessary victory. If it was done on purpose, it's a nice call-back to Sasuke and Liger's improvisation.

A post-match brawl featuring Kip Sabian, Chuck Taylor, and Orange Cassidy (who was attacked by The Dark Order early in the match) suggests some kind of tag bout lies ahead.
