10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (18 Aug)

1. Sting Does It Again

Sting should barely be able to walk, let alone wrestle at this clip, in 2021, but the 62-year-old did it again last night. He delivered another energised performance on the level of his popping Double Or Nothing showing, highlighting an absolute riot of a match as he and Darby Allin faced 2point0 in a Texas Tornado tag.

Matt Lee and Jeff Parker are the perfect stooges for spots like this. Their vocal obnoxiousness and big personalities elevate everything they do, and they're great bumpers and sellers, too. Flattened by Stinger Splashes and rag-dolled across the arena floor, they worked as well beneath as they did on top, driving Sting through a table with a double powerbomb.

That table spot produced the night's best spot. Sting did what Sting does, immediately powering to his feet in a building-shaking demonstration of fighting spirit informed by his diminished physical capabilities. The reaction was monstrous - and he got to finish it off via double Scorpio Deathlock on 2point0.

This was perfect for what it needed to be. Sting and Darby put on a show in the veteran's first TNT match in 20 years, doing so against the perfect sh*t-eating heels. There is so little difference between the current Sting and his last few years in TNA that it's hard to believe he has aged at all.

And it rules.
