10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (18 Aug)

Downs...

1. Caged Heat

Taz Hook
AEW

Like much of the ongoing Brian Cage feud, last night's Team Taz segment didn't land.

Taz and Hook were in the ring, introducing Ricky Starks, who invited Cage out for a cordial discussion. The cameras cut backstage where Powerhouse Hobbs had beaten the former FTW World Champion down but big Brian fought back. Starks ordered the producers to cut the feed, Team Taz fled, and that was it.

None of it landed. Cage's sudden comeback didn't elicit the kind of fiery response you need from situations like this and that it was never paid off made the segment feel lightweight and necessary. A shame, as each of these people is extremely talented, but perhaps it's time to fast-forward to the match.
