10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Feb 19)

Downs...

1. A Most Clunky Beatdown

Inner Circle beatdown
AEW

AEW execute beatdowns like the one The Inner Circle put on Jon Moxley all the time. There's definitely a point to be made about diminishing returns here but that aside, last night's had too many warts to be completely effective.

There were one or two moving parts too many for what AEW was trying to accomplish here, with multiple instances of wrestlers just standing across the ring, totally inactive as they waited patiently for their spot. While his mates were getting taken out by Darby Allin, Jeff Cobb may as well have had his hands in his pockets. He wasn't the only offender, either: these dues were just twiddling their thumbs while waiting for their spot. It's no fun when you can see the sausage being made.

The initial attack got big heat and Dustin Rhodes brawling Jake Hager to the back was a nice spot to continue their feud. Other than that, this segment wasn't it, chief. A shame, as AEW has proven they can do beatdowns like this well in the past.
