10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite: Road Rager (7 July)

2. A Real Pair Of Roughnecks

Nick Jackson
AEW

The Young Bucks vs. Eddie Kingston and Penta El Zero Miedo was as bonkers as you thought it would be.

A nutty, chaotic Street Fight with plunder, heat, and an incredible Don Callis commentary job (calling Matt and Nick Jackson, the least roughneck people in AEW, a "pair of roughnecks" is such good sh*t, pal), it saw the Bucks retain after mother chicanery with Rick Knox.

The referee was deliberately wiped out when Nick annihilated him with a 450 Splash, preventing Knox from noticing Matt tapping out to Kingston. The babyfaces got the visual victory, but true justice was denied, was the Bucks took full advantage of the first referee bump in AEW history by loading Kingston's mouth up with thumbtacks and finishing him off with an assisted Superkick.

Knox's bump works because it wasn't accidental (which is what really makes the refs look like chumps) and because AEW had never done one before. There's also the ongoing story between the former PWG official and the Bucks. Built primarily on Being The Elite, it will eventually see Knox deciding he's had enough of the Jacksons' sh*t, particularly as they likely sent him to the medical room last night.
