10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite: Road Rager (7 July)

8. The Pinnacle Get Back To Winning Ways

It was nice to see The Pinnacle's FTR and Wardlow pick up the win last night. Their feud with The Inner Circle has swung in the babyfaces' favour a few too many times lately, but Jake Hager, Ortiz, and Santana were royally screwed here.

This was a brisk, well-paced trios match worked at a good clip. Everybody fought with intensity throughout, running through quick tags and snappy offense before Big Van Hager took it up a notch, dashing around the ring after dropping his Bomb.

Cash Wheeler fell victim to a big chain of moves that was broken up by Wardlow, preceding the inevitable big beefy battle between him and Hager. Then, Tully Blanchard proved the difference-maker. Distracting Aubrey Edwards allowed FTR to hit the Big Rig while Wardlow was the legal man. The pin was won, and poor Konnan was chop blocked by Tully after the bell, having swung the Madball at Wardlow.

A dirty finish, but one that worked within the context of the story. The Pinnacle needed to get some heat back - and they got it.
