10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite: Road Rager (7 July)

7. Strapped & Smacked

QT Marshall Cody Rhodes
AEW

A supplemental Down for QT Marshall's jobber entrance. The Factory's leader was already in the ring while Cody Rhodes entered at the start of the show. A disappointing choice when so many have questioned Marshall's spot in this feud in the first place. If you tell the people he is a jobber by giving him the jobber entrance, he will be received as such.

The South Beach Strap Match was pure pro wrestling, though. Leaning heavily on showmanship, QT and Cody whipped and smacked each other around the ring, drew colour and made good use of the stipulation. Marshall strangling Rhodes with the strap made for the most startling visual here and he got heat for spitting in his rival's face in one last moment of defiance, though this backfired as he ate three Cross Rhodes for the loss.

Dustin Rhodes chasing off Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto minimised the shenanigans. A good call, as the quota was more than filled elsewhere on the show.
