10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Fight For The Fallen (Jul 15)

1. Cage & Moxley Go To War

Taz Jon Moxley

A typically bellicose Taz promo preceded Jon Moxley vs. Brian Cage, as the ECW legend once again ripped the AEW Champion for "sitting at home with wifey" while 'The Machine' was taking care of business. He has been instrumental to this feud's success and it'll be interesting to see what becomes of his relationship with Cage after throwing in the towel on his charge's behalf.

Cage and Moxley beat the tar out of each other here, launching into blows from the first bell. There was plenty of time for flashiness as Cage curled the 240lb champ like it was nothing though violence and intensity we're pushed to the forefront, inside the ring and other, with targeted assaults hindering both men. Moxley came good on his promise to go after Cage's bicep, twist it around a barricade. Brian, meanwhile, destroyed Mox for periods, nailing a German suplex onto a propped-up barricade.

Taz's assertion that Moxley couldn't hit a proper Paradigm Shift on his man was proven correct as Cage kicked out at two, though Mox's back-up plan was on point. A torturous series of armbars left Taz no choice but to throw in the towel once it was clear the hold was doing lasting damage. Cage loses nothing from this, while Mox marches on.

Capping all of this off was Darby Allin's return. A blackout fell on the arena. When the lights returned, Darby leapt from the top rope, smashing Cage with a skateboard, scoring revenge for Double Or Nothing. That's 'The Machine's' next big opponent sorted, then, though a Moxley rematch may be in his future as well.
