10 Ups & 1 Down From NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day

Ups...

10. Starting With History

Now for the positives - there are a lot of them.

WWE got it right by kicking off TakeOver with some history in the making. Yes, the women's tag hit a sizeable pot hole midway through, but that shouldn't detract from what these women achieved here. The victors were guaranteed to go into the history books as the first ever female Dusty Classic winners.

Plus, tag-team wrestling is just such a kick ass way to start any wrestling show. Dakota Kai, Raquel González, Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart should be proud that WWE saw fit to fire them through the curtain first; they were there to set the tone for the rest of the night, and they did that despite aforementioned communication issues.

Hearing Beth Phoenix narrate the action like a proud mother would bring a tear to a glass eye, and the first half of the bout is well-worth going out of your way to see. In fact, so is the finish, because the quartet also got that spot on.
