10 Ups & 1 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Sept 4)

7. R-Truth Is A Weirdo

If WWE could just run weird R-Truth confusion angles from now until the dawn of time, the world would be a better place.

Truth was still trying to find Carmella (whom he wants to pin to earn a title shot) last night, and still mistaking Maryse for 'The Princess of Staten Island,' leading to a confrontation between him and former tag team partner The Miz. He eventually found 'Mella, asked her if she'd seen herself, and with poor old Tye Dillinger standing around like a dope, the stage was set for Carmella to accompany Truth in the night's main event.

While nothing earth-shattering, these segments were fun. On top of this, his interactions with Miz and Maryse hark back to The Awesome Truth, so each came with a dollop of nostalgia. Ron Killings is a gem. He isn't a pushable commodity at 46-years-old, but his mix-ups have always been entertaining, and teaming with Carmella in the upcoming Mixed Match Challenge 2 guarantees more.
