10 Ups & 1 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Sept 4)

6. Old Tag Partners Collide

The Miz R-Truth

It's hard to complain about anything we got from The Miz and R-Truth last night, including their main event. Was it particularly memorable? Not really, but it didn't need to be. This was about furthering the Daniel Bryan feud. There was no requirement for the former tag partners to go out and have a ***½+ 15-minuter (if that's something Truth is even capable of at this age), so they didn't.

Miz gave Truth plenty of slivers of offence prior to the finish. Though it looked like 'The A-Lister' was en route to victory, Bryan and Bella emerged, distracting him from his adversary. This allowed the former K-Kwik to roll his opponent up, score an almighty scalp, and leave the brand's top heel red in the face.

In the post-match, Daniel and Brie took control, got themselves jumped by Vega and Almas, but Yes! Locked the duo as SmackDown drifted off the air.

Though patsying Almas and Vega wasn't ideal, the bout itself delivered. Truth looked good with his opportunistic victory, and the outcome protected and humiliated Miz at the same time, marking it as a win-win.
