10 Ups & 12 Downs For WWE In 2020 (So Far)
3. Drew McIntyre As WWE Champion

It's impossible to get an objective gauge of how Drew McIntyre is doing as WWE Champion without crowd reactions. Noise will always be the truest test of a performer's overness and without them, the evidence isn't as compelling.
Something tells us Drew won't be struggling for support when the fans come back, however.
WWE has done as grand a job in building McIntyre up as the performer has himself. The company loosened its reins on his character, allowing him to showcase a broader personality across his work, and Royal Rumble 2020 was a perfect star-making night. That victory was the springboard that finally shot McIntyre towards WWE Championship contention and in felling Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, Drew became a made man.
McIntyre has since done a tremendous job with the promotion's top prize, coming off as every bit the important, big-time World Champion he is. His standards are incredibly high and there's a genuine aura around him as a credible babyface that people actually want to invest in. The best part? Everything about it is organic.
